A free app built specifically for animal shelters and rescues recover lost pets.

Tell me if this sounds familiar. A member of your foster network calls in a panic, their foster has run off. Staff leap into action, sending emails and posting on social media. These actions are frequently ineffective; people see the posts days later, others get the email, but they’re too far away to do anything.

We built Rover Alert, a free smartphone app, to solve this very problem. The app enables users to report a lost pet or a foster, and anyone within a few miles with the app installed will be alerted. Recovering a foster that has run off requires immediate, targeted outreach to the people most likely to help.

If your rescue has a foster network, we recommend asking all foster families to install the app so you have a broad network of people who can receive your alerts. You can find the app here. Be sure to share it with your networks!
